Clubman of the Year Awards 08
CALL FOR ENTRIES
The closing date for nominations for the Clubman of the Year Awards is 31 August 2008.
Start thinking now, because you may nominate up to four volunteers from your Club to be among the first recipients of these prestigious awards – and, just maybe, to return with a grant for £2,500 to invest in improvements for your Club.
The awards are open to any volunteer from any WRU Affiliated Club; you do have to be over 16 on the closing date, but there is no upper age limit.
Club Secretaries will have received the nomination forms and will be responsible for returning them on behalf of your Club. Download a copy of the nomination form (pdf).
JUDGING
The judging panel will sit on Thursday 4 September 2008 to consider the nominations in each award category at Junior and Senior levels.
At the same time, applications for Clubman grants will be considered.
The panel will be chaired by legendary full back JPR Williams, along with fellow Wales greats including Scott Gibbs, Shane Williams, Ospreys and Wales Captain Ryan Jones; along with respected sports journalist David Evans, Sports Editor of the South Wales Evening Post.

THE RULES
- Nominations can be made by any WRU Affiliated Club within the Ospreys region.
- Nominees must participate in community rugby on a voluntary basis.
- Nominees can only be nominated in one award category.
- Nominees can only be nominated by their Club.
- Nominees must be aged 16 years or over on 31 August 2008, but there is no upper age limit.
- The closing date for nominations is 31 August 2008.
- Nominations can only be accepted at the mail address stated.
- Judging will take place on 4 September 2008. The judge’s decision is final. No correspondence will be entered in to.
- An authorised representative of Clubman Awards will notify Clubs of finalists prior to the awards ceremony which takes place on Thursday 25 September 2008 at the Ospreys - Liberty Stadium, Swansea.
- The nominee consents that all information and images submitted, along with any recorded material arising from the awards ceremony may be used in Clubman Awards materials, printed, electronic and media.
