WHO WE ARE
Clubman of the Year Ltd. is a not-for-profit organisation, formed by a group of people passionate about the great game of rugby.
We wanted to show our support for the game at grassroots level, to recognise and support the volunteers who are the backbone of community rugby.
With a small management team, an independent advisory board, and the generous support of our backers - we’ve made it happen. We are proud to launch the first awards in a joint venture with the Ospreys, and to give the fantastic work of the volunteer the profile it deserves.
In addition to the prize fund, net profits from the event go towards building the Clubman Fund. Our Advisory Board will determine grants to the most compelling applications for funds from WRU Affiliated Clubs.
As a company limited by guarantee, money that would otherwise be lost in tax will instead be invested in the game. And, like Welsh rugby itself, our plans are ambitious. Over the next five years, we aim to raise in excess of £300,000 for grassroots rugby.
OUR ADVISORY BOARD
The Clubman Advisory Board has two main tasks: to judge the Clubman of the Year Awards, and to decide how to distribute the resources of the Clubman Fund to community rugby Clubs across the region.
